WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF RESOURCES

What is the mining and resources industry?

The resources industry is all about discovering, extracting, and processing the natural materials that make up the things we use every day. Check out this video to see how: 30 Things in modern life that Australian mining makes possible on Vimeo

Mining is how we get the materials that make up everything from smartphones to bicycles, houses, electric cars, solar panels and even the coins in your pocket — everything starts with raw materials from the Earth.

Without mining:

• We wouldn’t have electricity to power schools or homes.

• There would be no steel for buildings or bridges.

• You couldn’t charge your tablet or phone; in fact you wouldn’t even have them!
